A native of Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in the arts while growing up. She was a singer in choirs, entered singing competitions and performed in schools and in community theatre. Following her move from Los Angeles, she studied acting in The University of Southern California and performed as Belle the princess in Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland for an year and one quarter. She left college in order to seek out an agent. Then she began doing auditions and appearing on TV as well as film. Butler was a guest on the TV programs CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.
